.:: My Fasting Son ::.
We have been fasting for almost 2 weeks now and I'm proud to say that my son, Ilyas is fasting too....Nope, its not the puasa 'yok-yok' where by afternoon he breaks his fast but he's been fasting full day, except for the first 2 days of Ramadan...
This year was his first experience in fasting.
The first day of Ramadan, he was practically begging me every hour, calling my handphone and asked if he could have his milk....told him that by afternoon, he could break his fast...Even my mom, who was taking care of him called saying that she almost gave-in to him when he pleaded to her with watery eyes using the reverse psychology of getting his milk. With his sad puppy eyes, he asked her if my mom loves him and if she does, to let him break his fast (and it was only 9am!).....I was on the other end of the phone trying to tell my mom not to 'fall' into his 'sad story traps' and only to let him break his fast in the afternoon!
Then on the 2nd day, he went to school which ended at 2.30pm. He was almost in hysteria when we did not want to let him break his fast when he was back from school but later we succumbed to his pleas and let him have his bottle of milk and only to continue the fast till the evening....
From the 3rd of Ramadan, Alhamdulillah, half day fasting is history. He began his full day of fasting without much problems encountered. No more reverse psychology, no more sad stories, except for occasional question from him if he could have his milk. Must be trying out his luck, i guess....and no tantrums thrown when we said he could only have it in the evening.
Insya Allah, he'll continue with his full day fasting regime till end of Ramadan. Ilyas darling, Abah & Ibu are very very proud of you!
