We went to Eatzi Eastpoint for late lunch...and as usual the food there were scrumptiously YUMMY!
So what's the occasion today? Its my birthday and I'd like to thank for the prezzies and to those who had wished me from the very minute the clock strike 12 last night and to those who even wished my much much earlier.... Yes, as early as a week ago!
I'm touched that even friends who seldom contacted me still remember that today I've turned a year older & wiser too, I hope... and of course not forgeting those left their well wishes in Multiply too....
To all, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.... May all of my prayers and your well wishes are answered, insya Allah...
How I wish I'm 29 forever... but that will only be the date of my birthday....Anyway, age is just a number, rite?!

.:: Surprise @ Rezki ::.
Last Friday, went to Rezki for our weekly 'lepak' session. Its been 2 weeks we didn't meet the gang as previously we went for holiday and Ilyas had HFMD on the following week.After some of us had dinner, I noticed a cake was on the table which was meant to celebrate Nani's birthday on 20th and mine, whose hatchday is just round the corner...
Thanks to my sis-in-law, Ima, all of us had a chocolate cake from Prima Deli for dessert....and of course thank to well-wishes from the rest of the gang too!
Pls pardon the quality of the pics as I didn't bring my camera and had to make do with my N80's camera....

.:: HFMD Free ::.
Back from vacation, my son had fever on last Monday....gave him some crushed panadols for children before we went to bed...
Then on Tuesday, my mom called me in the afternoon.... she said Ilyas complained of a bad sore throat and refused to take in any food.... I was merely thinking that he had another tonsilitis attack and told my mom to let him have some vanilla ice cream coz it helps to soothe the tonsilitis...
When I checked his mouth, I was quite astonished to see it was all red and ulcers were forming up...and I had this bad feeling.... I was hoping that my intuation was wrong! "Please God, don't let it be HFMD!" I prayed silently....and we quickly brought him to the Doctor to check.
Doctor was a bit skeptical to confirm it was a HFMD attack as there wasn't any blisters formed on his hands and feet yet. However, he suspected that it was likely to be HFMD looking from the ulcers in his mouth and he wanted us to ensure that Ilyas won't have more fever or dehydration as these factors would made HFMD more critical on a child. He said the blisters on the hands and foot would appear soon and that would confirm that Ilyas has HFMD and true enough, the blisters appeared the following day.
For those who's wondering what's HFMD, its known as the Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease. It is an illness caused by intestinal viruses, commonest being Coxsackie virus and Enterovirus 71. A person with HFMD usually presents with the following symptoms:
- Fever for 2-3 days Sore throat and runny nose
- Rash (flat or raised red spots, some with blisters) on palms of hands, soles of feet, or buttocks
- Mouth ulcers
- Poor appetite
- Vomiting and diarrhoea
- Tiredness and weakness ("feeling sick")
HFMD is usually mild and self-limiting. No specific treatment is available, however, treatment - can be given to relieve the symptoms of the disease.
With little help we can offer, we were left to watch Ilyas crying each time he has to drink or eat. It must have been too painful for him to swallow that he refused to eat. Desperate and not wanting him to dehydrate, we have to forced him to take small sips of water and diluted porridge for a few days....
It was a heart-wrenching experience for me and my family...having to see my only son looked almost dehydrated, slouching in a corner and keeping mum each time we tried to have small talks with him. For those who knew Ilyas personally, would have known that it is so not of his character and it almost dampened the family spirit.
Then by Friday, we saw improvement, he could take in more food and water... He even started to strike some conversations with us.... He was getting better and stronger by the day and as of today, I'd like to safely announce that my son, Ilyas is free from HFMD and he's going to school tomorrow. Yippee!
Alhamdullilah...

.:: Swiss Gdn Damai Laut ::.
Together with some friends, we went to Swiss Garden Damai Laut Resort located at Lumut, Perak during the long National Day Weekend. Here's a summary of itenaries on how we spent our fun vacation over there....
Day 1
By the time we checked in it was almost 3pm and the resort looks just like in the photos....scenic view and lots of activities in store for guests. We were pleased with our rooms as the view was facing the sea (despite that we were only paying for garden view rooms!)
In the evening we drove over to Lumut town to have seafood dinner.... At night, before turning in, Zali & Kefli decided to do some fishing....It was only a warm-up session and didn't caught any.
Day 2
It was a full day packed with activities.... After breakfast, we each paid abt RM28 for a Pangkor Island Drop....It was shopping for the famous 'ikan kering' and sight seeing at the Dutch Fort and mini replica of the Great Wall of China...
We only had less than a few hours of break before heading for the next activity arranged by the resort. For only RM10 and for 3hrs we did all of these :-
1) A bit of jungle trekking
2) Visited the Herb Garden
3) Took a tram ride to the surrounding apartments
4) Learn how to play the golf course
5) Fish feeding at the jetty
6) Fishing at the resort's pond
After dinner, we continued with our own fishing at the jetty...and we caught some fish....and there were other people who were fishing at the jetty...there was this guy who managed to catch a big seabass! We only turn in close to 3am after we were done with fishing...
Day 3
We decided to spend some time at the tempting pool after breakfast.... Played with the kids and enjoy the scenic view...Before heading back to hotel, walked around the beach, took photos and the men played darts...
Went to a nearby turtle sanctuary before having a late lunch.... We scouted for live shrimps for the night fishing and headed to the jetty to fish again...The ladies only stayed for a while as both Shida & I had made appointments at the spa earlier....
While Bebeh looked after the kids, the other 2 men were busy fishing and the ladies were rejuvenating ourselves at the spa....Wati was our amatuer photographer....
Day 4
So it was the last day of our vacation and checked out around noon....We then headed to Kellie's Castle.
Kellie's Castle was meant to be a home away from home for Scottish Planter, William Kellie Smith in the 19th century in Perak. The castle is perched on top of a hill. Construction of this unique castle begun in 1915. However, work came to an abrupt halt with Kellie's sudden death in 1926.
We had a late lunch at Tapah and decided to drop by at Kefli's friend's restaurant. After a good lunch and enough rest, we headed back to Singapore. Stopping at Kajang for the famous Satay Kajang Hj Samuri before reaching Gelang Patah close to 1am....
This trip was indeed fun-filled for both adults and kids... Very much recommended for those who want to venture slightly away from KL and away from the common holiday destinations in Malaysia... :)

.:: Slowly But Surely ::.
Hmmmm... If only the shredder machine is next to me.... hahaha...
I think I'm recovering rather slowly but surely, I hope.... Oh yes I'm still having flu and with the air-con blasting in the office doesn't help either.... I'm like working and breathing with one one nostril while the other is blocked most of the time with mucus and stuff!....Yeah pretty gross, indeed!
The only thing I'm looking forward is that tomorrow is a Friday and next week is a short working week....Yippee! Which means, its vacation time....Woohoo!
Can't wait to be somewhere here.... enjoying the sun, the sand and the sea....
