.:: Aidiladha & New Year ::.

Bebeh & I decided not to break the chain of having the Korban ritual each year as long as we can afford it, insya Allah. So this year it was my turn and we have it done at Ar-Raudhah Mosque together with Mama & my bro. Alhamdulillah everything went well....
After collecting and packing the meat, we headed to Ciko's to visit Mak. Then after Zohor we went for a gathering cum lunch for the Sooray family at Wak Wan's. Last visit was to Mang Pari's before heading home to pack for tomorrow's trip.
Yup, we are going to Kuantan (again!) as my old man wanted to have a short getaway before starting 2007 in full swing! Hopefully the weather is fine coz we'll be riding together with my bro, Norman & Azhar (both last minute decided to join us) while my old man drives....
Happy New Year, peeps and there's no resolution for me to list this time round coz all I want for the upcoming year is to be blessed with happiness, health and love, insya Allah!

Yesterday was supposed to be the last working day for 2006 but it wasn't for me...I was back to work today for a couple of hours to clear a draft submission to the dept head which needed to be vetted by my sup.....and he's been bugging me a couple of times yesterday....
And since I'm gonna be on leave on 03 Jan 07, why not return to office on a Saturday morning....So off I went this morning and guess what?
Learnt that he (my sup) will be on course on 03 - 04 Jan 07, meaning that he will not be around to vett the submission till next Fri! If only I knew yesterday, I wouldn't even bother to turn up today!
Darn!!!
p.s - Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha to all Muslims around the world...

The internet was real darn slow for today or in fact, I couldn't access into the cyberworld till a couple of hours ago....Managed to learn the fact that the quake at Taiwan has damaged the undersea cables causing a major disruption of internet & phone services across much of Asia....

.:: Kuantan's Trip ::.
On 23 - 24 Dec, 9 bikers and 4 pillions decided to proceed with our trip to Kuantan despite knowing that some of the coastal roads were affected with the flood in M'sia....We decided to have our own "Long Way Round" to Kuantan by using the long highway route instead.....
My Ipod Nano gave me problems just before moving off from Petronas 2nd link and there goes my ride with music in my ears......
Before the 1st stop at Pagoh, Raihan's saddlebag almost caught on fire when one of the plastic covers were in contact with the exhaust pipe.....
For lunch, we decided to stop at the R&R of Janda Baik (yes, its the name of the area) but Zul, being a 'corner enthusiast' totally missed out the exit to the R&R and Bebeh had to 'chase' after him to remind him of lunch!
At the R&R I was glad to see a handphone shop and managed to purchase an earpiece to listen to my MP3 in my N80..... and it was this earpiece which practically saved Roy and Hairi from being left behind when Roy's bike stopped suddenly on the highway to Kuantan (Roy called me when the rest were too engrossed riding)!
Managed to arrange Roy's bike to be left at an old fren's place in Kuantan and thanks Abg Wan Rahman for all the help and sorry for the inconvenience caused! Meanwhile, we headed to Duta Village Beach Resort to meet the rest of the gang....
The next day, went to Abg Wan Rahman's place to check on Roy's bike and luckily managed to get the bike start again....and by the time we geared up it was already pass 4pm to leave Kuantan & head for S'pore....
This time, we learnt that the flood has cleared and the coastal road could be used and off we went....reaching 2nd link for dinner at about 9pm!
Btw, my Nano was working perfectly well the next day when I tried to meddle with it.... maybe all these happened for a reason...a blessing in disguise perhaps?

.:: The Long Way Round? ::.
I know that I've been tagged by Effa @ mypurpleyes and I'll do it once I'm back from my riding trip to Kuantan....We've checked with some frens and hotel staff over at Malaysia.... The flood is indeed quite serious and there's no way we can go to Kuantan by the coastal road..... Kota Tinggi & Rompin are out of bound, we heard...
:(
But fret not, we'll do our own style of 'The Long Way Round'....
:)
We'll go by the highway to KL, exit by Cheras & ride along the new highway to Kuantan instead.... Its gonna be a long and hopefully not a wet ride....so do pray for us to have a safe ride to Kuantan and be back in Singapore by Sunday night, insya Allah...
Hopefully we don't have to go thru like this....

.:: Summary ::.
To summarise these are the few things which I did since I last blogged...On Sunday...
We went to these few places:-
1) A wedding invite
2) A cukur jambul invite
3) A visit to my Uncle's place as he & my aunt were leaving for pilgrimage
4) Meet up Bebeh's frens at Clifford Pier for a shopping of some branded shirts & stuff (incldg "CD" which his frens had creatively came out with the initials meaning "Celana Dalam" from Victoria's Secret) selling at low low prices....
5) Had supper at KTM before calling it a day....btw, here's some candid shots taken...
Upon reaching home, we didn't go to sleep although we were so darn tired & sleepy... Instead, we were searching & booking for hotel rooms for the upcoming riding trip to Kuantan.... Only to turn in close to 3am!
More of our frens were joining... I was almost in panic mode & hyperventilating when I came to learn that the hotel which I've booked earlier couldn't spare us more rooms and were fully booked for the long weekend!!! And it was fully booked too for a nearby hotel when I tried calling up...
At last, managed to reserve a couple of rooms thru the internet at a seperate hotel & my bookings were only confirmed today...
Phew!
On Monday...
Feeling pretty lethargic & sleepy & anxious (coz rooms were not confirmed yet) that I was totally not productive at work ...feeling cranky & crappy! Upon reaching home, I was too tired to do anything.... was in 'lala land' before 10pm!
Today...
Feeling slightly rejuvenated & woke up with a thought of clearing my half day leave (its last yr's btw)....Anyway, with the cold weather, I'm too lazy to stay up at work the whole day...hehehe....
Went for my much needed hair trim & treatment before going back home...and here I am typing out this entry.... feeling hungry...waiting for my parents to send my son back coz Bebeh is somewhere out there, accompanying his frens to do last minute servicing on their bikes before this weekend's ride to Kuantan...
So toodles... I'm in a sudden crave for instant noodles & feeling very very HUNGRY!

I've received a sweet surprise when Bebeh handed me a package from our mailbox....Amongst a beautiful 2007 calender showing pics of Quebec, I got these too... My cuzzins in Canada have surely grown up and looking very good, indeed!
And my favourite scenic view would have to be this....
Isn't it wonderful to have this view on your street when you wake up in the morning? *sigh*

.:: Dentist ::.
Since last night, my son has been complaining of toothache and yes he's got a hole in one of his teeth....Without much coaxing needed, he agreed to visit the dentist after fetching him fr my parents'.... Da sakit sangat la tu!
We didn't make any appointment and while I did the registration, I made Bebeh to accompany him to see the dentist....in case, my son struggled or screamin' his head off, Bebeh will be able to control the situation.....
And guess what?! We had to wait for almost an hour and he's out of the dentist room in less than 10 minutes! Surprisingly, there's no struggle and there's no tears streaming down his face when he came out....instead a smiley face showing off his newly filled tooth!
Thank God....it was a pleasant experience for Ilyas' first visit to the dentist... Phew!

.:: My Weekend ::.
Here's how I've spent & gonna spend the remaining hours of my weekend...On Friday, before having my sip of Teh Halia Cino @ the old Rezki coffeeshop, went to Cepul's place to see some of the AlterEgo boyz tweaking Cepul's bike...
As for yesterday, went to visit Mak's & Pakcik's graves to clean up a bit....its my 1st visit to Pakcik's....spread Jasmines and red Roses on their graves....doing that reminds me a lot of Pakcik visiting Mak's grave every week and spreading red roses on it, before he left us....
Then did a bit of grocery shopping before meeting Mang Pari's family togehter with Ejam & Norliah at Joo Chiat Complex....we were 'surveying' for ideas on the wedding berkat....
After suggesting my own cheaper but identical version to those berkats dispalyed in JCC, we headed to the Concourse & Boon Lay Shopping Centre to search for the 'raw materials'....
It was a Christmas mood in Concourse where retailers displaying & selling Christmas decos at level 1 & I managed to capture this colourful shot fr the top....
At night, went to East Coast for a BBQ party arranged Ima's family...its a post cum pre birthday parties for these two lovebirds....
His was over in Nov and hers is in a few day's time....
As for today, enuf for internet surfing, Multiply checking & updating my blog....
I'm gonna spend the rest of the day with this HOT date of mine....while my Bebeh is somewhere in JB accompanying Cepul to repair his bike.....

Last Sunday, attended Farida's (Zack Rizkin's sister) wedding together with the AlterEgoz....

Update 2 : Big Boys Toy
After the wedding, we visited the "Big Boys Toy" Exhibition at Spore Expo....
There were exhibits on cars, bikes, even boats were there and other nitty gritty gadgets that excites the big boyz.....

Update 3 : Straits Kitchen
On Tuesday, there was a Section Dinner Treat at the Straits Kitchen and for those who missed last year's treat at the same location, had a 'culture shock' upon dinner time.....
There was a lot of food to choose from and 1st timers normally wouldn't know on where to start and what to eat.....
All of us left with bloated tummies and I had the 'BIG nature's call' before even leaving Hyatt hotel!!! Hahaha....
Pls don't expect me to post pics of the buffet served at the Straits Kitchen coz, I'm not gonna let those who haven't been there having 'culture shocks' looking at them!!! Hehehe....

Update 4 : Shopping
Yesterday, it was a last minute thingy between me & Kak Lo to apply half day leave and went for a retail therapy retreat....
Bought some Adidas t-shirts for Bebeh, a pair of Adidas shoes which is long overdue for Ilyas and a new pair of Birkies for me....my old pair was asking for mercy...
Betol, tak bedek! Kalau campak pat sungai, ikan semua boleh mati!
Shopping sakan nampak? Sign aje...

Last night a few of us gave CT, Bebeh's ex-schoolmate a farewell dinner treat at Choa Chu Kang's Park....
She'll be leaving to Australia for 2 months to take care of her nephews & nieces while their parents went for Haj...
